Sian 6C

Self-Worth

It’s not always what you do, it’s how you do it… One of the most pleasing aspects of how Sian has progressed in Year 6 so far is not only the strides she has taken in her learning, but the attitude she has shown along the way. The manners, positivity and commitment she displays on a daily basis are something to be truly proud of- and we are truly proud of her!

Engagement

When is she ever off task!? Sian has the kind of behaviour for learning all teachers dream of seeing; she backs that up by contributing the kinds of comments and questions that highlight how in tune she is with the learning in 6C. Sian’s high level of engagement allows her to put a greater depth of knowledge/skill into her work- it’s a pleasure to see!

Purpose
If you want to see an individual acting with true purpose, then just watch Sian prepare for a Maths lesson: marking is responded to, the grid is readied, and her desk (and belongings!) is generally organised to facilitate learning! Also, it’s noticeable that a ‘working smarter’ approach in lessons is one favoured by Sian…she’s very quick to focus in on the key aspects of her learning (and they are very evident in her work!).

He takes his learning seriously, and tries to understand precisely what is expected of him at every moment…the outcomes Jakub produces show he is asking all the right questions!
Purpose
  • Why does my room still smell of vinegar!?! Well, Jakub worked very hard on a recent homework project and was keen to show exactly how this particular ‘explosion’ worked (in fact, he wouldn’t be denied!). It was great to see how Jakub had applied his learning so passionately- even if the carpet took a bit of a soaking! This is just one of many examples of how he acts and works with great purpose- keep it going!

Mark  6D

This young man was so quiet, when he first came into 6D I almost missed he was part of the class. However Mark has, within a matter of weeks become the child that impresses me with his ability to be everyones Hero. He is supportive of others and is never too busy or pre-occupied to offer a helping hand. If anyone in 6D had a choice of who to sit next to Mark would be their first option. As quiet as Mark is, he has an inquisitive nature, constantly questioning why? His enthusiasm is infectious throughout 6D leading to an environment of child-led learning. This trait will develop his understanding of the topics we study and the world around us. Mark sets himself high goals – constantly challenging himself and never giving up. Keep doing this Mark, as others are watching you and you are leading the way in 6D.

Aine 6D

Where do I start on this amazing young lady who has shone out in 6D with her first Hot Write that blew me away? Aine is a sponge who soaks up all the knowledge that I provide plus magpie-ing ideas from various sources and putting her own spin on it. This young lady has the biggest smile on her face, especially when we try new things in class. Her face lights up with enthusiaium as soon as she knows we will be doing a hands on lesson that requires real life objects involving lots of fun activities. Aine sets her own goals as I think she feels mine are just too ordinary for her! Aine you are ready for a challenge – no one will stop you so reach for the stars.
